The Derwent Singers were founded in 1968 in Derby and quickly became established as one of the leading choirs in the Midlands. 

Our repertoire includes a wide range of periods and styles, from early music to contemporary pieces, both accompanied and 'a cappella'. In 2014 the choir was awarded trophies in two classes at the Derby arts festival.

All this reflects the choir’s ability to diversify and entertain. Their current music director, Richard Roddis, singer, composer and conductor, enthuses the choir and audiences with his musical insights and humorous touch. ‘Come and Sing’ days, tours and social gatherings are all part of the choir’s life.
